As long as you get the end of the hose over the barb you should be ok. I typically go with the lawdude approved method.

We used some WD40 to lube the ends.

Argh, more problems.

The larger of the two ECU bays, the part that plugs in, is stuck onto its receptor -- but the sliding lock is half way out.

The lock won't come out or go in, neither will the ECU plugin, its really stuck.

Anyone else have this problem ? What should I do -- just bite the bullet and call BMW and void my warranty ?

Help.

Charlie

you should get a friend or someone else who is mechanically inclined to help you out. doesn't need to be BMW, in fact preferrably not so you don't void your warranty. I'm sure there's a performance shop or possibly even a car audio shop around who could handle this for you. It sure sounds like you are in over your head (no offense intended, everyone has their own skill sets)

Charlie,
Try pressing the two locking tabs to remove the slider. Once you remove it, you can put it back in, and start over.

It doesn't want to budge, even when depressing the locks. I'm afraid I have no other option other than to force it out or force it in, should I try to get it out ?
