Miswah's new car!

My miswah picked up her new car last month. A Peugeot 208 GTI

Its her first brand new car, initially wanted a 118d untill she saw the GTi on TG and then booked the test drive and fell in love with it.

In all honesty its well spec'd from the factory and with all the upgrades apart from the panoramic roof it has Sat-nav, Bluetooth, DAB radio, Ipod connect, tinted windows, upgraded alloys and folding mirrors.

Its half leather and even has a leather dash. A lovely perforated flat bottom steering wheel and some cool dials.

I even like driving it, so that must say alot.eace:

Its a 1.6 turbo with 200HP and it only weighs in at 1160kg so does pull really well!

I drove past a pug dealer last month and nipped in to have a look a one. I have not driven one but a nice looking hot hatch, the engine is a class act as the same as the Mini. Interior nice, like the go kart size steering wheel and leather on the dash.

I have a unfair bias that everything French is not made well, will rattle and fall apart that kind of puts me off but as I say that is me not the car.

Hope the Mrs enjoys the car and I believe you will get baby seat in the back.

I see the engine comes with 270 bhp in the RCZ now.

That's a fair amount from a 1.6.

LOL. What a way to introduce a new petrol-head to the world than being transported around in a GTI. Class.

I think the phrase 'pocket rocket' sums up this car perfectly. I really like it.

Have a slight soft-spot in fact for Pugs. In April 2004 I bought a brand new S2000, the wife (gf at the time) got a new 206cc, she'd never owned a new car & I persuaded her to go for it. She never had a problem with it whatsoever, cheap to run, cheap to service, and after 5 years had a decent chunk of equity in it (that I stole after giving her my E90 330d ). I'm not saying French cars don't have their problems, I don't know whether they do or don't these days, but our experience was purely positive. Hope yours is too.

I approve of small French hot hatches. It's got the same size engine as mine..... Yours has just a little more power though.

Never been a fan of 2tone wheels. However, the rest of the car looks awesome!

I miss my hot hatch days . Haha

Snap!

I got a black 208 gti too, Carlos. I put a thread up a while ago as the deal I did was a bit complicated. I have been using the dealers demo for the past 12 weeks and finally picked up my one last Friday.

I have to say having driven it for 3 months or so that I LOVE the 208gti. It is a complete hoot to drive and comfortably delivers 40+ mpg on my commute and is pretty well specced. I have nav, heated seats and the armrest on mine and the only black mark for me is the absence of xenons.

Hope your miswah (and you!) enjoy the new toy as much as I am!!

Thanks for all the kind comments, we both love it. Snooky I agree mate, a proper cool little car. Looks great and goes like the clappers. Really fun to drive. Sounds like a muted GT-R. Glad your enjoying yours!

Xenons are not an option! Did you go for the upgraded alloys?

Very nice looking car.

Looking for an economical hatch with a bit of go and can cruise at 80 on private roads. It's in the running! Shame it sounds like a muted-GTR though
