For those w/ procede and vista laptops
I figure ill be helpful since im sure more than one of you have vista laptops, without this you most likely wont be able to install v2 as the driver that comes with the cable is not vista compatible
http://www.floridaprobe.com/usb_install.htm just tell windows to update the driver from the file (uncompressed) via device manager |

I had Vista (IT guy so had to try), now I have XP - avoid Vista if you can - SP1 comes out in January timeframe and should make it more usable, but avoid it while you can!!!!

you guys are dumb, it has nothing to to with the quality of vista, simply has to do with the drivers not being for vista same thing happened with xp and every other OS |

No shat. But XP is a lot more user friendly still. I ordered my Dell with XP for a reason.

VMWARE is another solution!!!
A better Solution for you all with a Vista Laptop.
Take your car inside the house and use your PC instead. lol. No, JK. You guys have to get more techie and play around with VMWARE, it is software that let you virtualize an OS, in this case Windows XP, and it will let you run it within Vista. This is the link where you can get it: http://vmware.com/download/player/ I have not play much with this version, but as the other, I believe you just have to give the Guest OS (Win XP) DIRECT access to the USB/Serial Port. I don't have Vista on mine, but I can definitely help out to get the right config, in case you can figure it out yourselves. The latest version 2.0.1, (yes that right, just as the procede version) fully support Windows Vista as the Host OS. |

I have to disagree with that. Unless you need direct access to the hardware that VM won't allow (Gaming), then I personally feel emulation is the way to go. One thing I always like to do once I get the VM setup is create a snapshot of the image so that if I do screw something up I can easily revert back to the original config.

My advise was just assuming not everybody with a 335xx and a Procede is a computer geek or a computer gamer maybe. |

vista
If you plug in a standard USB to serial cable, windows downloads the driver w/o using the disc during the install.
