Boot spoiler arrived!

Not had chance to fit it yet but placed it on for test fit. Great quality copy of BMW F30 spoiler came in 5 days no customs charges and perfect paint quality no marks!

got mine from emotors2000 on ebay. Paid £79 but received a customs letter a couple days later from UPS...

Still a bargain in my opinion!!!!

Steve, how is your spoiler now its been on for a while? Have you noticed any lift in the adhesion or discolouration etc? I'm thinking of ordering one for my EB11 just before it arrives if you recommend it?

Yes, it comes with just enough double-sided tape and some paint prep cleaner.

From a practical point of view does the boot spoiler make a difference to how quickly the back of the car gets dirty? Just wondering if it alters the airflow round the back of the car cos in the wet the back of mine gets filthy real quick (and this could be the justification to the Mrs for me to get one)

The back of the will still get dirty as the main airflow comes from underneath the back of the car. That's generally why to rear number plate disappears under a layer of grime in the winter!

If anything it'll make it worse, but minimal difference.

No difference here, possibly slightly worse, maybe the justification could be that somehow it helps mpg by keeping the rear wheels connected to the road and so over time (probably years) it will more than pay for itself

Does fitting the rear spoiler constitute a modification you need to report to your insurance company and has it had any effect on your premiums?

Not sure if it will affect your premium, but I think you need to tell them you have fitted a spoiler, don't give them any excuse to not pay out if you need to claim. My car came with a lot of the additional parts fitted (ordered spoiler etc.. when configuring car in the dealer), I told the insurance from the outset when changing the car so not sure what it would have been without any spoiler in the first place.
