Anyone with Part P certification on here
Have a connundrum need answereing as its even got my sparky puzzled.
When you have a fuseboard such as this one. Is it against code to mount it vertically. Question has arisen as when the houses old fuse board was replaced it was only option to fit it in. As other way would have meant bricking up the cloakroom window. So we mounted it vertically as its heigh is as large as the old one had width. Now comes time to certify it as having more work done on house so will need a part P sign off and struggling to find an asnwer. Everything else is done right withit just case its been flipped 90 degrees. Even labels are right way up

No issue at all mate. An MCB, RCD or main switch can be mounted almost anyway. Most 3 phase distribution boards have MCB's mounted horizontally. I don't have part p but I have been in the industry for years and I can see no problem with it at all. HTH
