I could if that is something of interest for you. I'll weigh out the pieces to get a rough estimate for you after work.

Damn. Had to be Alpine White.

May I ask why you're selling the diesel rocket?

LOL! I'm selling the car so I can get: cue dramatic music...a miata. Also I want a cheap car to put around in until I hear about a diesel x1 for the wife. Anddd...I'm really tired of an automatic car.

Edit: looks like its going to be a FIAT Abarth now. Hearing news about the next gen mazda/Alfa Romeo partnership will make me want to wait. Those darn Italians and their sexiness.

Miatas are great cars and well respected by us car enthusiasts. That little roadster is nimble and fun to drive. My buddy was recently looking for one as a beater. Guess he was sick and tired of the auto on his 335i too.

Good luck though and show us pics of your new ride before you leave the forum!

I completely agree. When I was younger I had a friend with a beat up miata, I was amazed at his cornering skills when we would do Highway 1 trips! I never felt comfortable with the earlier models. Then one day at work I was reading an article about a Super20 one off model and my mind went "NEW PROJECT!!!!!!"

I'd like to hear more about the camera kit. Cost/challenges to install?

Sure, The camera is a straightforward install in my opinion. I used Alekshops install guide as a point of reference as they are similar units. I also bought an extra front camera just in case for fitment.

If you do it yourself, then it is fairly cheap. I would imagine that if you paid someone it'll be a couple hundred. Either way, it's awesome. The front camera saved me a ton of hassle with curbs or big 'Merica trucks with tow hitches.

It is also nice that it integrates with your steering wheel buttons. If you do it yourself, make sure to have enough time so you don't rush the install.

Nope, it's plug and play. It just intercepts the signals and makes them pass through the unit. This is accomplished by tapping into the I-Drive wires. I like to think of it as adding tweeters to a speaker (requires tapping in to the speaker wire)

I guess I am confused on how it knows to start displaying the cameras... Using the rear camera when in reverse might make sense, but how does it know to display the fronts?

Also this might "tap into" easier if you have the sensors, already...

You push one of the buttons on the steering wheel to activate it. the rear activates when in reverse, the front activates when you push the button with the circle on it.

Yup. That's exactly why I bought them! There's tons of talk about needing to code it but honestly I don't see the reason for the expense to do so.
