Prescription Sunglasses
With all this bright weather I'm thinking I could do with a set of prescription sunglases. My current glasses are just fine so I don't really want to go for the eye test, buy this new set and we will give you free sunglasses etc as I know that route will cost me £300 +.
Anyone on here gone for a cheaper option or used online providers.I have my prescription ok so thats sorted. Easiest option is the flip on cover things for ordinary glasses but cant see these looking too great unless there are better options available now. |

before my eye surgery I used http://www.posheyes.co.uk/ always had great service and full prices inc lenses where similar to just frame price in vision express.
Ok couple of years ago but worth a go. Even when a frame broke replaced it quickly and fuss free.

I have photochromic lenses that go dark in the sun but the screen etc filters out the UV & they don't change, clip-ons may be a good option for use in the car only, even if I would look a pillock in them

Got specsavers... pair of glasses and get prescription sunnies free.
I given up paying stupid money for frames - used to pay £150 for just ted baker plastic frames. Same bloody thing without the ted baker logo from specsavers inc lenses and a pair of prescription sunglasses cost me less, and i need high index plastic as blind as Arsene Wenger.

My local optician made me prescription lenses for my Oakley frames. Much cheaper than getting Oakley prescription sunglasses and if you get bored with them you can put the ordinary Oakley lenses back in and put them on eBay. There is pretty much no value in second-hand sunglasses if they have prescription lenses. You might have to ask your optician quietly. Mine was an Oakley dealer and Oakley aren't keen on the practice.

Looking out at the rain I'm thinking my need for these isn't so crucial now. Given I could do with an eye test in the next 6 months or so I might wait and get sunglasses then too and get something nice like Raybans or Oakleys when I know the prescription will do me for a long time.

or try contact lenses, pop them in and then you can wear any sunglasses you want
as a glasses wearer myself i find this to be an easy option!
