85-90 then up to 100 for like 20 seconds.. not that fast. I heard a scraping noise then a thud, I thought I blew out my tire.
It was a Hamann lip which is only for pre-lci but it can work with lci but doesnt fit perfectly so this was the result.. Had both screws and the extra strong double sided tape |

This just happened to me last weekend. Mine was a cf m3 lip. After going 50mph through some huge puddles on the highway and then pulls of 100+ I came home to find a naked bumper as well ;(. Time for cf splitters now.

Yea I wouldn't do it since you have an LCI. The space in the middle between the splitter and the bumper probably cause a ton of downforce on it which caused it to come off. |

Do people really believe double-sided tape and 2 screws is enough to hold a splitter on?!
If it was my splitter, you'd bet your ass that it'd have 15 screws AND double-sided tape at the bare minimum... Hell.. I'd go so far as getting brackets made and mounting securely to the frame or other integral support. Especially if the splitter is $400+ like most are... But really... 2 screws and some tape!?

You guys should honestly considering getting under the car and drilling and blind riveting the splitters on if you want them to stick.

The splitter was installed with SCREWS or BOLTS (with washers)?
Mounting with a screw into plastic is next to worthless. The only thing more likely to fail is tape. I've had my splitter on for 2.5 years , through puddles, debris, parking blocks (damn!), and other impacts. If properly attached, they stay attached. Don't go the easy way & try to install it without pulling the bumper. It's a 1 hour job to pull the bumper, mount the splitter, and reinstall the bumper. Search the DIY section for details. Sorry about your loss, hope the next one stays on longer... |

I have a Kerscher style lip and mounted with 8 bolts and washers. You need washers to distribute the load. The lip is cf and fiberglass which is brittle. Bolts or screws will pull right through without washers. Ive gone 100+mph lots of times without issue. Ive also hit deep puddles accidentally and it didnt budge even with the water submerging it.

My csl spoiler flew off at 100 mph lol I tried to go find it but it was gone. Double sidded tape doesnt cut it.
