Just how safe are we in our cars?

This happened Sunday night at the bottom of my street...had it happened 2 minutes earlier I would've been there at the wrong time/place.

That was nasty, they were travelling at a proper rate of knots!!!

Hope the boy recovers. Sounds like he could have been paralysed.

Very sad to read 'life changing injuries'.

I hold my hands up and have to say that back in the day (10yrs ago) I liked a bit of a race on the public road (albeit never on built up areas or 30 zones) and thinking back now I wish I knew better - things could have gone pear shaped if anything went wrong.

Nowadays I get my kicks out on track days.

Certainly makes you think!

Aww that is so sad.

I don't know why people race on these sort of roads. Absolutely stupid

Them guys will most probably get a 12 month ban

For street racing on public road and dangerous driving it's a straight ban.

For this they should get lock up for a while and never get to drive again.

I do track days only best way to stay out of trouble

I find stories like these highly upsetting. I hope the little guy recovers.

It's amazing at that speed, head on, that none of the car occupants were killed.

NCAP ratings don't help pedestrians though..
