60-130 mph times?

During my Porsche days the 60-130 mph time was the benchmark for performance. I was wondering if anyone had timed their stock 335 using this benchmark? Plus the times for the Turbo Tuner, JBS2, Xede and Procede?

For a comparison my w211 e55 ran it in 12 seconds, 94 964t in 10 and the e36 M3t ran a high 12's.

Why is 60-130 some kind of benchmark? It eliminates driver error (launch) or inconsistencies (except for head wind, temp etc.) For people who don't know how to launch a car properly? Definitely! We used it to measure modifications on our cars to get a "real world" dyno. Instructions: Start in first at a slow roll and take each gear to redline. Most use video. Time the video when the speedo hits 60 and 130. I used a Automotive Performance Meter by www.race-technology.com from my racecar for measurement.

Well if thats the case you should be able to smoke a e55. My buddies Ruf ran a 8.6 sec time. Other supercars from Car & Driver:
Enzo: 7.0
CGT: 7.3
F430: 9.5
F50: 9.6

Here is a video of my buddy in a 930t with 800hp running a 5.5sec.
http://www.klsales.com/porsche/video8.mpg

The best time that I have seen is Alex's Protomotive 996tt 4.4 sec. (1000hp)

I'm guessing the 335 will run 14-15 seconds.

You have lost your mind ... the 335i can probably do zero to 120 in 17 to 18 seconds.

You've lost YOUR mind. It takes over 13 seconds for the 335 to barely accelerate to 103-104. The time to 130 is WAY more than 14 or 15 seconds from a dig.

i personally think it will be less then 12 secs, the car has 300 ft/lb or torque or more, with the turbos the high end power comes almost as fast as the low-end power. My guess is under 12 secs 10.5ish is my guess

Here is a stock 335i doing zero to 130 in 21 seconds. I bet a chipped car will cut 4 seconds off that.

Nope! It would probably take a 335 9-10 seconds to get from 100-130 mph. Assuming the 335 drag coefficient (cD) of .30 & 23 ft of frontal area (aero), 3500 lbs and 280 rwhp. It would take roughly 430 whp to break 12 seconds 60-130 mph.

a few more 60-130 mph times:
10.9 - Lamborghini Murcielago
11.7 - Ferrari Challenge Stradale
12.1 - Lamborghini Gallardo
12.2 - Porsche 996TT

Actually the video you posted gives me my answer. Thanks! It looks like it took the 335 about 16-17 seconds to run 60-130.

I would bet a tuned car would cut a few seconds off of that time.

Seems to be somewhere around 9.5ish on my car. Although thats sort of a guess, I don't have any logs going to 130 but 54 to 124 took 8.7.

PS That was pulled from a 123mph track pass.

I have a video somewhere I took a long time ago, its not a 60-130. But its pretty close.

I did 40-120 mph in 9.1 secs to 9 secs flat. When all i had was procede 1.4

Gotta look for it. If i cant find it, ill just have to take another video when I get back in town and get the car back from the shop.

yup a lot of people on 6speedonline use the 60-130 measurement. i think the fastest one right now is mark's 996tt which goes 60-130 in 4.7. his quarter mile is 09.91 @ 145.6. god i love those modded 996 turbos

Interesting question. Off the cuff I would say no way it takes me 15 seconds to get from 60 to 120. You may be right but it seems to me I can get to 120 by the end of most freeway ramps. I'm gonna guess 10-12 seconds with Procede.

I think its obvious that a lot of our forum members (Rips335i) have no idea about the time it takes to reach much higher speeds than 0-60.

This video shows a Procede 335 doing 62-136 and 0-136 should give you a good idea. I think 0-130 in 16 seconds.

Going WOT at 60 to 130 mph is different than going 0-130 mph and then measuring the time it takes to go from 60-130 mph (from the 0-130 run).

You are right! It should only take a 335 about 13 seconds to get from 60-120mph. But we are talking about 60-130 mph. Add 3 seconds for that extra 10mph. Remember, the when you double the speed you quadruple the drag force thus requiring much more horsepower to push air.

Sorry, the only way a 335 is going to break 11 seconds 60-130 is with around 400-420 rwhp.
