ANyone driving with Dynamic Handling pkg in SoCal

I am wondering if I should get DHP.

I am getting the M-sport Pkg on the 335i and wonder if anyone can pitch in some personal experience and insight based on SoCal and NorCal driving.

Opinions are mixed and there is no real description of the DHP and how it handles.

If any personal experiences are shared, that would be quite helpful

Anyone in SB/Ventura/Camarillo area with DHP?

What's great about DHP is that you can enjoy a comfortable ride when you wish and a sporty ride when you wish. Pretty much every person that has it will tell you it's worth it. Have your cake and eat it too.

Thank you! Spoken from personal experience I hope, and not from the posts by people?

Just wondering.

Correct. I have DHP on my car. My previous car (E46) had stock sports suspension then I change it out for a coilover system. I love that DHP can give you best of both worlds at just a push of a button.

Thank you sir.

One box is checked.

Do you have 18" or 19" wheels? I am only considering 19" because I love the 403M design, knowing the ride quality might change when compared to the 400M 18" wheels. Do you have recommendations based on your ride setup?

I specifically went with 18" rims because (listed in order):

1) more tire choices - especially when it comes to R-comp track tires.
2) smoother ride - I prefer more sidewall since it allows more flex
3) cost - I can destroy a set of tires in very short order, if I choose, so yeah, cost comes into play as well.

I have DHP on my M-Sport. As the above poster states, I recommend it, too. There is a big difference between comfort and sport.

I have 19" wheels with Michelin PSS with aspect ratios of 35-front and 30-rear and I don't believe it ride is compromised, at all. I had 400M with if memory serves, 40-front and 35-rear run flats (which I thought were terrible).

I have no experience with a normal suspension, but I'm very happy with the DHP.

For what it's worth, I test drove a 335i last weekend with DHP and wasn't able to tell the difference between the adaptive suspension and my current M Sport suspension. It may be more obvious on the track, but it wasn't something I could feel on city streets.

If you want to know where you can test drive the car in the LA area, send me a PM. Hope this helps!

i didnt get the dynamic on my 335i sport and was dissatisfied with the amount of body roll. Elected for the M performance Suspension and couldn't be happier. Thoughts to ponder

Thanks! How much is the M-performance suspension? I know I can search too. I imagine you got it installed later and not at the VPC?

The M performance is $4K - $5K for parts and labor after delivery. If you are leasing, the best option is having it port-installed.

The decision is pretty much DHP if you want flexibility, M Performance if you want performance, M Sport if its just a daily driver and you have decent roads.

I have the Adaptive Dampers and 19" M-Sport Wheels on mine and I love it! I would never categorize the ride as soft even in the "comfort" setting as it always feels composed and settled. "Sport" is definetely more rigid but I've figured out that setting is good for spirited driving where corners are involved. With the broken concrete pavement of the 5 freeway on my daily commute the comfort mode is perfect!

I have DHP on my RWD w/stock summer RFT . I find that comfort mode isn't as soft as I hoped for(thinking about my kid and baby). The only reason I got the DHP instead of keeping the sport suspension is to have a cushy ride for when they napped.

I've only had my F30 for 7 days. Maybe the car needs to be broken in more. Plus I haven't really attacked and corners yet to determine if sport mode makes a noticeable difference or not.

Have you checked your tire pressures? Mine were VERY much overinflated (50+psi) when I took delivery.

I have DHP, im from Ventura but living in the Valley.

The car's response is amazing, not loose at all.
Steering at high speed makes me feel "safer", the sensitivity is also spot on.

Can't complain.
