That was perhaps the most meaningless "race" I have ever watched on YouTube. It proved nothing.

Was the E92 a 6spd auto?

You might just be showing more of the benefit of the 8spd auto vs the 6spd auto. Although without the tune, he would have just walked you earlier.

Yah there is a million problems with this vid man (not trying to knock you). Buddy probably didnt brake boost off the line, has a manual tranny or maybe the 6 spd auto so thats no comparison. Displacement will always win (providing same power numbers are made). Also you didn't even gain a car length so there is no loss here. Its just reaction time.

The tune obviously works though based on the vid! Glad you like it man. It woke up my 320i.

I do have to say, the other day I raced a E90 335i (LCI) with an Auto to about 75mph on a legal drag strip and I was 2 full cars ahead of him after 50mph. I doubt it would be as big of a gap on a F30 with the 8 speed, but still it was no contest. He was pissed.

From a dig to a very low speed, any two cars will stay relatively close. Put me in an Accord V6 automatic from a dig against a Viper caught off guard with a bogged launch, and I can guarantee you the Viper won't pass until about 60-65 MPH.

crimson335, did you notice how hard the 335i passed you once you actually got rolling? Race from a 40 or 50-roll until 130+ and see what happens. Until then, kakiss ger. Esh.

Its f30 328i auto
E92 325i auto

0-60mph difference between the 335i and328i is like .4 sec difference so i dono why people are shocked. The 335 was break boosting. Before tune was no match at all. After tune take of takes him. On a roll 335i wins but not as bad as before.my point is the tune works and makes a difference

That's with E85 though right? If you were running premium gas still, the 335 would have been quicker?

Yes, 50/50 E85/93. No way to know without doing again sans E85, but I was quite a bit faster than him off the line and through 60. Even if one is faster than the other with just premium gas and no E85 mix in the 328i, it would be VERY close and come down to driver, tires, etc...

Also the 8sp auto helps a lot. It shifts much faster than the old 6speed and the gearing is much better for acceleration since there is an extra gear or two in there. That being said, I don't know how we'd fare against an F30 335i stock but we should still give them a run for their money.
