320i Tune Suggestion

Hi all,

Looking at getting a 320i XDrive... Want to "de-neuter" the 2L turbo engine...

I see Berger has a JB4 that seems to work with the 320i's engine... Any other suggestions?

Any comments on what sort of HP/TQ increases the 320i sees with the current JB4 maps?

I have my 320i running 4psi with the bms stage 1. Its a great tune. No issues so far. Hp & trq. Numbers are anywhere from 210-220 whp & 230-257 ft/lbs.

Seems odd that some random, small town russian tuner has found a way to flash the DME with the 328i settings... Any more English details?

english translation: the software for I drive was changed...anyone can do it that knows are cars.

its impossible to load the 328 fuel parameters into the 320i without blowing the engine . the 320i has a different compression ratio. that small shop is full of you know what.
320i- 11:1
328- 10:1

but we are.

I don't know the details, can only say ECU has been opened and transferred to the recording mode someway then filled the adjusted program 328i through OBD-connector (first 50 (fifty) kilometers ECU already in recording mode)

I know about compression ratio, but despite it all works fine
Now there is a problem only with intercooler overheats, so i need to somehow set intercooler from 335 - ams or forge

DME unit has been modified, not i-drive

that is already not impossible, my engine still works fine

I would imagine they lied to you. I bet there is simply a piggy back module installed like the TCM or JB4 module.

that is fun

But not true, I watched them throughout the procedure
moreover there were some races with two stock 328i, сars accelerates equally up to 180 km/h

One guy in Saint Petersburg set BMS stage 2 + downpipe, now his 320i has 260hp at 5th mode, and 280hp at 2nd mode. Both of modes are faster then 328i stock

Simply do a few 0-100 runs.... Are u able to meet the advertised 5.4 (5.6) 0-100 that a stock 328i Is supposed to meet?

And a modded 328i with stage 2 is supposed to hit that in 4.9s

A 320 is not just a detuned 328...

5.4 s 0-100 km? what are you talking about? check this out

http://www.bmw.de/de/neufahrzeuge/3e...che-daten.html

There is 5.9s 0-100

One guy in Moscow did 4.7s on 328xi fbo stage2, i am not sure i could do the same time with my RWD, but will see

i know that difference 320i & 328i in the exhaust system and pistons (also reducer)

My car works well, that's why i can say the difference in the pistons is not a big deal, except that it is more prone to detonation. And it does not matter if use our 98 petrol (sort of yours 93)

Does the stage 1 on a 320 require different firmware to that on a 328?

I dont understand how your intercooler could be overheating if its adequate for the 328. they are the same part number... I think you have something else going on causing this heat issue... cylinder heads is my best guess. I think your really pushing your engine to its limits if this info your providing to us is accurate. your engine is probably running fine under normal driving conditions but under wot, your probably getting heat issues due to the tune. your gonna burn out your plugs soon. Have you tried hotter plugs?

WOW. do you see any difference in downshifting delay(3rd to 2nd) after changing the software? If so, that would be very cool to have a way to do it here in the u.s. too..

also hope your car's hood is well.
