BMW Professional HU Coding

Hey guys,

I drive a 323i (completely basic everything except sport package). Inside I don't have a USB connector or bluetooth options. I then stumbled upon this:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=687463

And in the videos this guy hooked up a usb/aux dongle, installed a microphone, and USB capabilities all into a BMW Professional HU. I checked my car, and it also says "BMW Professional" on it.

So I was wondering if coding was all that my unit needed to be able to do all of those other things? Then all that I'd have to do is buy that USB/Aux end-device, and a microphone and hook everything up?

Maybe. Based on the DIY you could take out your radio to see if yours is identical to the one he has. Bluetooth logo on top and with the fakra cable connection on the back.

That's what I'm going to take a look at this week! But assuming that I do, I'd be good to go right?

Well I'm assuming you could get this coded with a OBD cable. US models HU cannot be coded with the OBD cable as I've read. Has to be done over MOST connection. But to know you have the right HU, that is a good start.

You probably don't have USB/BT in your radio prof.
As far as I remember it was in LCI cars only.
You need to replace your radio to newer one.

Is your HU bluetooth and USB capable? Maybe I'm interested. I still can't send private messages until tomorrow: I´ve just registered to the forum.
