Walnut Blasting... Do I need it?

Well... my car has been idling weird the past few days (I've had the car for 2 months) it has 32K miles. I know the car has never been walnut blasted before or assuming so... is this a good time to get it done?

I'm swapping my plugs, coils and FMIC. I just swapped my intake with a DCI... do you think the walnut blasting for $350 is worth it at 32k miles? Do I wait? Is there any cheap way to diagnose if I need this? How do I know if my valves are dirty?

Can't hurt. You check your valves by taking your IM off and looking at the valves.

Thanks! I think I'm going to get it done, seems worth it.

Definitely do it. I had it done at 36k miles, and it looked like it was about 10k miles past due.

Did you car feel different? Was it idling odd? I get a bit of a back pressure at 2mph and a weird idle here and there and there both not constant, I'm wondering if this will fix the issue.

I'm going to swap my plugs and coils, if that doesn't fix the issue/misfire I'm having with tune I will walnut blast and then decide what to do next.

I'd like to have my car and brand new and then just maintain it, sometimes 32K miles feels like a million lol!

Idling is a lot smoother now, and so is acceleration. I used to feel slight power surges under WOT, and they are gone now. I can't say it added a lot of power though. My logs show that at my current map (Cobb Stage 1 + FMIC Aggressive) it went from 347 rwhp to 352 rwhp and from 397 rwtq to 401 rwtq. Overall the car feels a lot smoother and I am happy with the changes.

When you say idling a lot smoother, my car sometimes idles up 100-300 RPM... you think this could have to do with it?

Also, on the decel of 3-6MPH I get a back pressure almost like my tranny is slipping, any idea?

When idling, my car used to do that too. RPM would go from 600 to 750 and back down, and again, and again. That stopped now. It now sits steady at 620. But the N54 and N55 engines are not the smoothest idling engines. Even now I occasionally feel a very slight shudder at idle, and the RPM needle will go +/-10 and settle down. Almost as if the engine is clearing its' throat. And it's always been like that, even when it was nearly new.

As far as back pressure, I am not sure. I have never experienced that. But my car is MT, so I don't know.

Thanks! I'm gonna do the blasting, it seems worth it unless my car is brand spanking clean which I doubt...

The back pressure is odd, I only get it on the decel.
