Stop Me From Making A Lexus Mistake!!

Hello guys,

Im not gonna lie. I found myself looking at IS-f's. I found a used one, 2011, with 28k miles and has the 100k mile warranty for about 47k. I roughly paid 45k for my 2013 328i xdrive. At the moment, my car has only 2k.

I have no idea why im lusting for a car thats two years old vs. a brand new 2013 model but still. The specs are pretty sick on that car.

PLEASE HELP ME NOT MAKE THIS MISTAKE AND LOSE MONEY.

it's a 7 year old design and redesigned IS F is on its way.

Oh I just remembered an interesting story, I tried to race one last week and the guy laughed at me. I really wanted to see that machine pull.

I say go for it... the lexus is a more reliable car, and more exclusive... there are already too many f30 328....

Exclusive is a word I find interesting when a referring to the is f. For example Edmunds has a list of the biggest turds in automotive history. One of them is the Acura ZDX. They sold around a 1000 of those things at the IS Fs price range. Would we say the Acura ZDX is exclusive? I understand the IS F is no ZDX but there are similarities with how both performed in the sales dept.

OP buy the car for the right reasons, am sure you will be happy with the IS F

So you should buy a car regardless of all features or characteristics ... because it's more exclusive?

The mini clubman is pretty exclusive at our place. No one is buying it. Haha

maybe exclusive is the wrong word to use

Rich People (which unfortunately does not include me) do that all the time.

I actually do consider the ZDX exclusive, and would buy one if i had the extra space and doh. I like it more than the CrossTour.

Im gonna fight the desire. I have to.

Seems dumb to trade in a brand new car for a car that has 26k more miles and also a old design.

But still, that power. Hahah.

Might as well get a used E90 M3 if you are shopping for IS-Fs. You can get a 2011 for around the same price or even less. Best of all you will be driving an exponentially better car

Haha i love how the thread went from asking about a IS-F to M3 to S4 (no idea why i went to S4). I am gonna just stick with my car. I mean i do love it. I also want power at times but still, just gotta suck it up and be happy.

Can't be one of those stupid petty "first world problems" thread.

Switching from your current car to a different car will cost you several thousand dollars (depreciation, taxes, etc.) Here's some potential solutions:

1) Spend that money on a supersport motorcycle instead. The acceleration will be vastly greater than the IS-F.

2) Test drive a new 911 Carrera S. Depending on your preferences, it could very well make you forget about ever wanting an IS-F. However, the cost of the 911 would be so high that you'd never want to pay that much money and would therefore be content with your 328i for what it is.

I'm selling my 2008 BMW M6 for the same price. Currently has 30k miles.

Sure you want to spend that much on a used Lexus considering what else you could get?
