Retrofit Factory Alarm Help
I want to add the factory alarm to my F30 that didnt have one.
Does anyone know what parts i need to buy? Also can i activate it via Coding or does the dealer have to do that? I am thinking i can just add an option code the VO to get it to work but im not sure. thanks |

I did my E46's as a retrofit. Still required dealer activation/coding, so I'm almost positive the F30 will too.
It will probably be more of a PITA to install too. |

Much more of a PITA on F30. Back in Spring 2008 BMW decided to remove pre-wire harnesses from cars. Things like alarm, CD changer, phones, etc..
So all F30's with no alarm are also lacking the wire harness necessary to install the alarm. In Europe you may be able to locate an alarm retrofit kit. There was one for the E9x models. I can tell you it will be a big job to make it work! Back in the e46 days, all you had to do was install the parts and have the dealer activate. Those days are over.
