Oh that's sad *moment silence* :/ long live e92 And e90 spirit
So does that mean the whole 3 series e9x gen is all done and dusted? I.e. there are no more being built? I know the sedans were done back in 2011 but not sure if some coupes still going..

Meh. Time to make room for the M4. Excited to see what they do with it!

And the ease of tuning, that's the big one for me. I got 100whp/200wtq from like $500 in mods on the 335i, totally amazing. Put $500 into an M3 and get maybe 20whp/20wtq?

I say bring on the M4. E92 M3 is a great car no doubt, but there should be NO possible argument anywhere that makes the 3 series (335i) look more desirable than an M. The M4 with it's turbocharged I6 will solidly put the 435i in its place with no debate.

I agree with the other guy, the 335i can be faster than the m3 easily and the car gets better gas mileage.
Its pretty sad that a 2010+ GT500 gets 24mpg at 550HP yet the M3 gets 18mpg and is only 414 hp. The Gt500 is similar to the 335, a pulley change yields another 100hp. If the m3 came supercharged then yes, it would be the winner. I was originally planning to buy a m3, but the 18mpg and the 400hp motor was old technology to me. Its like bmw didn't care about how the market was going so with each year they didn't touch the engine. Thus the reason i picked a 335i e93 over an m3 e93. The difference in price wasn't worth it when i could use that other 10-15k to save up and a 2010+ gt500 for 35-40k used and have 2 cars. I'm actually doing just that. I plan to buy one eventually, I have half saved up already. If you want liters, then your in the wrong catagory. You should look at the Mustang, Camaro, Corvette, Charger ect... Those have litters. The newest 2013 gt500 is 5.8l (650hp) which is just like the Camaro, but much faster. These cars advance almost every other year yet the M3 stood back and watched. I hope the m4 is upto par with the rest of the competition otherwise their true intention is to make "rare" when you barley see one m4 in each city (if lucky). Bmw needs to step up there game when it comes to power. They have the luxury behind them adding a turbo to a 414hp motor would yield 500+hp and would bring over more guys form the muscle car area. I sold my custom built 600rwhp mustang to help save up for the gt500. When i bought my 335i, i test drove the m3, and 335is and the m3 just felt slow. Although the 335i was slower it had more low rpm torque so it actually felt a little better, but with a flash its night and day. You just cant beat the torque of a supercharger or twin turbochargers. I was originally planning to sell my mustang for the m3 because I love the look so much, but after a test drive I was utterly disappointed in the performance for the cost. On top of that the gas mileage is lot less for the m3. I'm really hoping bmw hops into the faster market with there m3. At least get it to 500hp for competition. |
