anyone with lease worried now to get procede??

as far as risking the loss of your warranty.you would have to buy the car right because they wouldnt take it back.I want to get procede now but with the recent loss of a warrantee (because of a mistake) im getting worried.Whats everyone elses take on this.thanks

If that's all it takes to get you worried, my advice would be for you to not get it.

This is not to say that your worries are trivial. Far from it. Quite simply: If the loss of your warranty would place you in any financial jeopardy or distress, then the wise thing to do would be to avoid those potential scenarios.

I doubt that guy is going to lose his warranty.
The dealer has to "prove" he had a piggyback in there.
He did not, he just apparently forgot to plug in the solenoid hoses correctly.
He could say he took his car to get an oil change the day before and the oil change techs must have messed with it.
They can't prove otherwise. It's not the honest thing, but when are mechanics and dealers fully honest with you either?

Plus, he can always just go to another dealer, the dealer could get sued by him if they "voided" his warranty without proof of a piggyback and made a system wide note of it.

And they can't force you to buy the car. You have a signed lease agreement, nothing stating you agree to buy the car no matter what. They'll still have to take the car back. Just like if you were in a serious accident. The car will lose it's warranty if there was engine damage in an accident, but they can't force you to buy the car then.

Why would Proceed worry you, if you already have JB2 installed?

I was planning on taking it out.My thinking is if you dont make any mistakes with the removal there shouldnt be any problem right.

the only thing is your not giving the car back in its original form like your contracted to.your giving it back with a voided engine warrantee.how can they sell that.I dont really know what would happen in this situation.I know ive waited to get procede for a while and I think im just going to chance it.

Yeah, the JB2 still has wires intercepting the ECU...same situation as the PROcede. I'd say do what makes you feel comfortable, but so far, there have only been a small handful of PROcede 335i's who have been turned down for warranty service due to engine mods like the PROcede (and a couple of those guys either left the PROcede installed or they didn't fully return it back to stock when going in for an engine performance related problem or an error code). In addition, it's obvious that more and more SAs and BMW Service Techs know about the PROcede (and XEDE, SSTT, JB2, etc.) and many are cool with it (especially if you go in for routine maintenance) and some even have it or want it.

My suggestion is to ask your SA a hypothetical question about engine performance mods and if they've worked on any 335i's with the an engine performance mods (and if so, how do they feel about working on them). See what he/she says, but in the end, you need to be ok with going in for service with or without a mod. If you have an engine-related problem, you should probably remove the PROcede (or other engine performance mod) prior to going in for that service. However, for routine maintenance, you may be able to just leave it in. Depending on your dealer and SA, it's your call.

I think I might order one today. The turbo tuner pulls real good down low and runs out of steam quickly up top.The jb2 doesnt have a lot of pull down low but screams up top.im thinking procede is the only solution.

Are u kidding me? It pulls like nobody's business all the way from 1,500rpm - ~ 6,500 rpm!!! :rocks: Just think stock, but with A LOT more power ...way much more HP and especially TQ.

Now, the 2 main things I'm looking forward to with PROcede v2.0 is 1. more HP and 2. more HP/TQ all the way until redline.

Doesn't the ecu record any data? Such as max boost etc or does the procede interupt and the ecu thinks it is at stock parameters?

So it is either Be DisHONEST, or have it be a coin flip if they want to void your warrenty?

One should know a little friend called karma.

You choose.

I don't know why you think its so black and white, but it is not. Removing your piggyback prior to taking your car in for service is just a safety measure. If you are taking your car in for a service update or nonengine related service, why would you give them a reason to document something that may not have a negative impact on your car?

I wouldnt necesarily call that dishonest, but rather protecting yourself.

FYI -- A majority of car enthusiasts who actively participate in online car enthusiast forums MOD their cars; so, if you'd like to play "I'm holier than thou," maybe you should do it elsewhere!
