Aquamist Water/Meth Injection done
Took about 3 hrs with a dual jet (3mm & 6mm) installation. I reckon this is the best bang for buck for our cars for heat soak/detonation/fuel octane problems. Raining quite heavy here for the last 2 days so I haven't had a chance to log yet.

I dont play with that. Had a lot of friends do it with WRXs and almost did it to mine but to many problems CAN occur with street cars, if no fail safe maps, pumps, etc. But would love to see the logs

M&M - those jet sizes seem kind of huge. What stage kit are you running and how is it wired up?
We just installed an Aquamist 1s system on a 2000 M Coupe with a VF-Engineering Supercharger kit making 9psi and using a single 0.7mm jet size and it activates at 6psi. |

I've been running Aquamist setup on my E30 for many years with no issues. Aquamist has all the safety measures in place.

Wiring is simple. There are 3 wires. Ground, switched 12V & any 0-5V signal. I used the MAP Manifold sensor. I set the gain until it comes on around 3000rpm on full throttle. I guess that's around 10psi or so. Will have to measure the voltage & check. |

i think you're spot on here. was planning to go this route as well. which aquamist system did you pick up? 2D? ( nvm.. just read your follow up post) you running 50/50 or pure meth? did you mount the tank in the trunk? i thought the nozzle size is based on caculation with your injector sizes? |

Well jet sizes/location are totally dependant on your application & what you want to achieve. We have high compression engines with boost & very small turbine wheels. This generates heat & is TOTALLY fuel dependant for knock resistance.
So in a 335 application the aim is to reduce in-cylinder temperature & therefore increase the knock resistance. Adding more volume to the charge would be a secondary consideration. Hence the placement & size of the jets would be designed to achieve the primary objectives. |

Nice, I was wondering about water/meth injection for our 335's. I had a Aquamist/Snow setup on my G35 for the track for the same reasons, to help with heat soak/detonation & fuel octane problems. I ran the recommended 50/50 water/methanol mixture.
Post up some install pics & more detail on your kit. :rocks:

Nice, I was waiting to see someone run meth injection on a 335. Looking forward to hearing your feedback after you get it up and running.

Why best bang for the buck? Unless you are going to way overboost or have upgraded to larger turbos, why bother?
Don't get me wrong. I like the setup and had it in my Spyder VR4, but I was running high boost and upgraded twin turbos. You might end up loosing power... |

I think what he was getting at was that if it isn't tuned for it can be potentially detrimental.. M&M- Do you have any pics of the install?? I am curious where you put your nozzles. |

Well you are adding more fuel. I am unsure as to the nuances of the N54 ecu but adding more fuel would instigate a rich condition. Also meth is pretty corrosive; if there is any rubber in between the nozzle and combustion chamber then it can degrade after a while.
