Equalizer settings

Anyone have suggestions for equalizer settings? I listen to mostly Prog rock. I'm not overly impressed with the surround sound option.

I play a lot of Dream Theater, Magic Pie, Symphony X, Transatlantic, Porcupine Tree, Opeth...you get the idea. I only play my music loud. There is no other way to listen. Just hope the system holds up.

I've seen Symphony X and Opeth and the rock. I've been listening to Symphony X for about 8 years now and seen them in Lansing, IL in 1999 I think at Prog Fest. I actually went to see Jag Panzer but Symphony X blew me away too so I've been rock'n to them ever since.

I seen Dream Theater a couple years ago when the opened for Megadeth and it was awesome. Fear Factory, Symphony X was also there. It was great. I think you should do any upgrade to your system. The stock system is "ok" but not great. There are a couple companies that are making devices that will integrate with your stock system and allow you to convert the signal for aftermarket use. I think Audio Control and JL make these systems. Check it out.

I'm ashamed to say that I have never seen DT, Symphony X or Opeth, especially since I listen to them a lot. I have seen Porcupine Tree 3 times in Boston. If you haven't listened to these guys before you need to start doing so. They posses a very original sound, though their earlier work is heavily influenced by Pink Floyd (not that there is anything wrong with that).
I can only imagine how good Paradise Lost or Blackwater Park sounds on your system. My ride is leased. Wouldn't pay for my to make those very nice upgrades you suggested.

Symphony X in from your neck of the woods in NJ. You shouldn't have any problems finding a concert to attend. I'll check out Porcupine Tree 3. The name sounds cool.

Later...
