Losing it, rattles are driving me insane
So i've owned this car for about 1 month now and have racked on 2500 miles. At first I was getting some buzzing here and there from my driver's side by the tweeter/dash, the idrive console, and my passenger rear window. I tried my best to ignore it as I couldn't replicate the noise and it would come on and off.
And as of two days ago the car now produces a much louder rattle. One that would be present in a much older, ragged out car. It sounds like a metallized version of a door stopper if someone was to flex it and let it go. It appears to be coming from inside of the dash on the left side or the dead pedal. I can't really tell but it's driving me insane. It makes the noise everytime I drive over anything uneven, which is pretty much all of the time as Georgia roads are always under construction. Last night I took my wife to Ikea to buy some stuff and had to fold down the rear seats. I left them down and on the way to work that same loud rattle I hear in the front is now being produced in the rear. So now my car is rattle central. I read all of the DIY's on rattle fixes but HELL if I should have to fix this type of crap on a brand new BMW. It's just inexcusable. It's EMBARRASSING to have my in-laws, or any other passengers, sit in my car and marvel at the red interior only to then question the rattling noises later. I had two e90s and 1 e92. All three had mileage that was 60k+ and have been through leases and several owners and maybe an accident or two and NONE of them ever rattled. It was always a dream to buy a brand new BMW and I guess this is what I get. BTW I have a 2013 328i Sportline. If the dealer isn't going to fix this crap or warrant it i'm going Chinese on it |

Welcome to the new BMW rattle club. All i can say is video record the rattles every time it happens, constantly email the videos to your service advisor, and make them focus on your car until they fix them. I had to do this to get mine taken care of. Good luck

That sucks, look on the bright side, at least you're getting the rattles early (so you can fix it). If it happens outside of warranty, then ill be pissed

your rear rattle sounds like the one i had. i know this is an old thread but there is a computer module in the boot, left hand side under the plastic for the med kit. i stuffed some acoustic foam under the module, rattle stopped.

My 2013 BMW 335i sedan also exhibited quite a few rattles. Some could not be fixed by the dealer despite multiple efforts.

all my Bmw's bar my e91 rattled away much to my anguish and i have spent hours and £££ to fix them and yes i do have silent cars now. dealers do f.. all to find and fix it unless its a glaring obvious issue. much simpler to turn a detective and use forums etc to fix the rattles with your arsenal of WD40 electrical tape felt tape 3m tape etc.
