Springs vs. Coilovers

I have not yet gotten a BMW, but am planning on getting a 435 x-drive, I know lowering for x-drive hasn't been developed yet but assuming it will, or even for just general discussion. What would be a better solutions to providing a performance upgrade, lowering, maintain drivability with reasonable cost and not destroy what's left of the stock suspension.

For and example HR super sports vs. hr street performance ss coilovers
