My service agent noticed I changed my reflectors but all he said was that they looked nice.

No tuning software wise though.

Well, on my VW, my dealer was an APR dealer and I had an APR tune and other products on the car lol. None was covered under warranty, but did not stop the dealer from being a vendor.

I have heavily modified a number of cars which even the most uninterested would immediately notice - loud, lumpy idle, six-point harnesses, video mount, etc. All were tuned.

Not once have I had a warranty issue. If something I have not touched breaks the dealer has always been happy to service the car. Just do not expect them to fix something you broke. Similarly, if your mods require the dealer to take more time to resolve a problem it is reasonable to be charged for this.

Just treat the dealer with respect. If questioned, immediately acknowledge the mod and discuss its purpose. Most service people like cars enough they will happily work with you.

Fair enough, but BMW wouldn't be able to sell a modified car as certified pre-owned I wouldn't think, so that's gotta be a cost to them if that's the case that I wouldn't think would make them very happy.

You have to remove mods before returning the car at lease end.
