It's not the rear view camera. The bottom button is the rear view camera/PDC button. The second one from the bottom is the "nose cameras" button, as KellerKiller said.

was hoping it was the adaptive suspension control. With adaptive suspension can you control the mode manually. For example Comfort Mode with Sport + suspension?
Thanks Kevin |

The P button on the bottom activates the PDC AND the rear view camera if equipped.
The camera button above activates the rest of the cameras if you have the driver assistance package for the nose and side views as mentioned. Since the rear view camera is independent of the full driver assistance, that's why there are two buttons. I have the rear view cam and PDC, I do not have that camera button. RE putting the dynamic handling into a certain mode, this has been posted plenty of other places. You can set "Sport" mode to Chassis (suspension) or chassis + drivetrain. If you want sport suspension with comfort shift logic then you need to change that setting first then you're good. There is no such thing as "sport+" suspension settings. You are either in sport mode or comfort mode. Sport+ is sport with the addition of reducing the traction and slip control. It's powerslide training mode for people who can't get the car back in line after a drift.

It's called "Side View". I have this on my car, and it's pretty cool. You can even code it to stay on at all speeds.
From the owner's manual: Side View The concept: Side View provides an early look at cross traffic at blind driveways and intersections. Road users concealed by obstacles to the left and right of the vehicle can only be detected relatively late from the driver's seat. To improve visibility, two cameras in the front of the vehicle record the traffic situation on each side. Capturing the image: Two cameras integrated in the bumpers capture the image. The cameras capture a maximum range of 330 ft/100 m. Display: The images from both cameras are shown simultaneously on the Control Display. Check the traffic situation as well. Check the traffic situation around the vehicle on blind driveways and intersections with your own eyes. Otherwise, an accident could result from road users or objects located outside the picture area of the Side View cameras. Automatic deactivation during forward travel: The system switches off when a certain driving distance or speed is exceeded. Switch the system back on if necessary. Display on the Control Display: The traffic area to the left and right is displayed on the Control Display. Guidelines at the bottom of the image show the position of the front of the vehicle. Brightness: With the Side View switched on: 1. "Brightness" 2. Turn the controller until the desired setting is reached and press the controller. Contrast: With the Side View switched on: 1. "Contrast" 2. Turn the controller until the desired setting is reached and press the controller. Cameras: The two camera lenses are located on the sides of the bumper. The image quality may be impaired by dirt. Clean the lens, refer to page 299.

For the MY 2013 you get the side view camera and the rear and top view cameras as part of the driver assist package. If you choose the PDC/ rear view camera option only from that package you will not get the side view camera button, the one above the PDC/top view button. I am not sure if you get top view cameras unless you have the full driver assistance package.
The other confusion I see is the "nose camera" description which others may interpret as camera on the front of the car to allow for a 360 degree view. I don't believe any BMW has a 360 degree view. The correct description as others have said is "side view camera" To summarize there are 3 cameras: Top view ( last button) Rear view (last button) Side view ( button OP is questioning)

I rarely ever use these, but have tried a few times.
The thing with using these cameras is that I am in a situation where a car is turning left and has pulled up really far and I am trying to turn right. I cannot see around them because they pulled up too far, so these cameras help me to see around the front of the a**hole. The problem is, it is hard to judge distance and speed while looking at the screen, and you I'm essentially making a decision to pull out into the road or not based on it. If I am wrong or misunderstand what I am seeing on the screen, it could literally kill me. I do not have enough trust in these cameras to stake my life on it, so I don't really use them. It is possible that there is another use-case that others have found which is safer and more reliable, I am just giving my own experience, nothing more. They are a neat idea though.
