Just cause you have a nice camera don't mean your pictures will turn out great.
A DSLR takes time to use and you have to learn how to use the Manual feature.

A person who is good with a digital camera (point and shoot) can take better pictures than a person who is new with a DSLR.

I started out with crappy photos, but now im taking better pictures! So have fun! DSLR's bring a whole new learning curve.

thanks, yeah the actual photo was a little washed out because it was a little past noon and the sun was directly behind the car. I used sharpen and desaturated the colors.

Started with a 300D. Got a 40D yesterday.

Ironic - Nice pics, but you might want to get your sensor cleaned up. That second pic is awesome, but the dust bunnies spoil it.

So for the last few shots of your car and the e90, did you just increase the contrast to get that look? It's really nice. And how did you get that zoom blur look in the photo of your car off the side of the road? PS?

I also like the photo w/ the bridge in the background. Desaturating colors can really change the tone of a picture.
