Sport driving mode
Does anyone know how to have the car select sport driving mode automatically any time I start the car? F30 Msport.

Nope,
This would be a terrible idea to be honest, putting to sport mode while engine oil is still cold? It would be worse if its winter!~

Just because it's in sport mode doesn't mean you have to thrash it. I put mine in sport mode instantly because I prefer the steering feel and throttle response, but doesn't mean I start red-lining the engine out the driveway...

That isn't going to hurt the engine. In fact, with sport mode keeping the car at slightly higher rpms, it might help the car warm up a little quicker with more oil pumping throughout the system.

I know what you mean. The first thing I do when I get into my car is to put it into sport mode and "accept" the idrive agreement.
It's too bad we can't have it in that setting all the time. A "smart" like that should be able to deal with it.

Strange I don't have to accept the agreement in order to gain access on both of my cars. It automatically accepts by itself. I never had to code it to be that way

No, I don't have to accept the agreement. Its just the initial screen that shows up. It goes away if you go to any screen or in a few seconds.

With Naturally Aspirated Engine, it's is ok to push them when cold but don't do it regularly. For the Turbos, I'm a close friend with the foreman at my nearby dealership which I get my car serviced, instructors of the STEP program based in BMW NA and also the STEP students which I recently had the liberty to chat with, that they strongly advise not to push the turbos when the oil is still cold or not the optimal temp level. As they would wear the turbos pre maturely. They also said that its ok to push once in a while in an emergency or doing a accident avoidance.

Regardless, you can force it to Sport mode now despite not warming up the car. And it may be unsafe for your car. And for that matter, you can force a naturally asperated car in -40F/C from the get go too. And it may be unsafe for your car too. Point is we are already given a gun and can already easily shoot ourselves in the foot. This is the same gun that we've had for years since the beginning of cars and cold weather.

You should not beat on a cold engine regardless of FI or not. M cars have staggered redlines as the car warms up, a neat feature. BMS stage 2 tunes are inactive until the engine warns up.
BMW should allow Sport on start up as part of the PPK software. |

Give it a few minutes to warm up before pushing it. As a benefit, it will run smoother and provide more power than a cold engine. |

You can't have it default to SPORT but you can code out that stupid disclaimer screen. I did. I forgot about until I just read your post!

I hate that the i-drive displays the fact that I put it into sport mode/ traction off etc... my passengers think I'm crazy since i switch modes quite often.

+1 The first thing I do is put in in Sports mode before driving off. I don't push the car until oil temp is up.
