Well, I bought a bought a audio-technica mic by the recommendation of one our forum members. The last time I put the camera on all I got was wind noise. I put on the go-pro and left out. Please feel free to dog me out on the ugly azz hook-up as I'm expecting this one. I was in a hurry. Waiting for Urban Legend 1st. Lol

The route I took by my house has long straights, but also had Po Po there, 3:30, 4:50 6:29 see him on the left of the screen (you cant see the otheres as they were off screen as witness by my radar and me seeing dps x3 hence the slow motion drive on the way back. Guess they were house hunting. Anyway, my purpose was to hear how the pipe sounded on/off the gas. I need GTM. Dave take yours off your car and let me borrow it til mine arrives.

Boots - I like your initiative on video shooting, but I don't really understand why you are shooting a video shooting backwards on the outside of the car.

I find interior videos with windshield mount much better capture the driving experience of the M5 both in terms of sound and in terms of speed. I will send you a link to one of mine some time.

Wasn't thinking when I put on the camera. All my other videos are from inside my car. This is my first from outside. My only purpose was to hear some exhaust sounds, but yes I should have swapped the camera around. Later today, I'm going to find a better way to mount the wires and hopefully get a scenic route as after tomorrow, I wont see the car for another 4 days. Thanks bro

ok, new video from the inside being uploaded. Throw away the previous one guys. Remember I'm not out for a video shoot so I don't care about scenery. I'm here to just test a mic so that if anyoe else is looking fo a mic, they might like this one. I also have another speaker cover on it's way here for me to test.

Thanks Mac V! Ok, here is a better video from inside the car. This mic does capture the sound of the exhaust without much wind noise. I placed the mic onto the Lp bracket. Now at least I can hear what the public hears which is a good thing. Sorry, but I don't have an edit program on here but it is what is is. So hopefully if someone is looking for a mic, they might choose this one. Hopefully my other one test tool is in the mail box today so I can get in a quick test today as I won't be able to drive the car for a few days. I did receive my HR springs on friday, so install when I return.

It's doing a good job of capturing exhaust noise, but still picking up a lot of road noise.

What would happen if you mounted the mic inside the trunk?

I'll try that next when I return back in town in a few days. Yea, it does pick alot of road noise but blocked out alot of wind. Yea, got to find a way to block more of that out. Probably a 2nd mic cover will do the trick. Yea, I'll try that. Guess it means that mic is sensitive. One thing I noticed at point 4:27 when I switched from 1st to 2nd, my car catches a 2nd gear scratch. Cool

One thing is that the Rpi Exhaust does sound badazz!

Thanks. You really don't get to hear your exhaust until you let someone drive it or you film it. On m settings, m1 is all sport and m2 is sport plus, sport plus, sport. In auto mode, all sport and power in 2nd position. I perfer to drive in standard mode when I can.

Shoot a video with the mic in the trunk. I think it will be epic.

Remember someone else posted here that he found his exhaust by putting the rear seats down.

Also to me the in-car sound is the only sound that matters. Who cares about what others hear. If I wanted to impress others I would have bought a Maserati or an Aston. The M5 is about personal pleasure.

I going to place the mike in three spots. Inside the cabin, trunk, and outside. I do want to hear what everyone hears as that's the first thing that draws our attention to that car and wonder what exhaust is on there. Thats what we all did here on this forum. I agree that it just might sound awesome from the trunk. Rpi gts test in the trunk first then all three gtm test. The mark of a good man is how well he helps others.

Finally leaving louisanna and my wife called w good news that the gtm is in the living room waiting on me for the install tomorrow. 6 more hours to drive. Agghhhhhh

Made it home and it was like x-mas. Cant wait to craw under the car and install it and become a hooligan for a minute. Ha, didn't know my toes were part of the pic..LOL The Gtm is nicely made and the welds look great. They made another great product. Yes, you could have got one made at the chop shop, but I don't believe it will be the quality, fit/finish of this one.

I made a small video with the mic in the trunk, but again, this car is sound proof really well and it sounded so much better with the mic outside. Sorry Stealth I tried. I now received my Micover "stickover series for gopro hero in the mail. I'm gonna give t a try now. Report back later tonight.
