4-yr Maintenance plan will cover oil change as per scheduled interval but not the occasional extra quart your car requests.
Was using Castrol Edge with my E90. Haven't bought any yet for the F30 but would go with same unless I see a reason not to on this forum... 5W30 is the basic OEM oil recommended. |

Our old 5er would always need a top off at some point before its next scheduled service. The dealer we purchased from would send a service vehicle 35 miles to do it for us. There never was a charge.

no. They track everything via computer. When they did the oil change based on time instead of miles they would readjust the mileage after the change for the next service. Which I would not reach that set mileage either.

I was picking up a spare quart for my way out of warranty M Coupe when my service guy walked by and said 'you've got a car under warranty, you don't have to pay for that'. Nice gesture and makes me more likely to stick around.

They specifically told me they were not going readjust the mileage count, but just to bring it in when I hit the miles and they will change it again for free. They recognized that will probably only be in a couple of months but they said that was fine.

I guess that's their call. The dealership I was dealing with did not do that. To tell you the truth I'm alright with it either way since I do not really put a lot of miles on my car. If I were to have 12k miles on the car at 1 year and 3 months later hit 15k, it really wouldn't be worth my time to be bothered changing the oil again.
