does the drl dim when u turn on the headlights

On the e92.. the halo would dim when the headlight are on... I'm wonder is it the same for the f30..

Mine certainly do dim. I didn't think that would be country specific.

Yes, probably market place specific. For the UK: "DRLs must switch on with the vehicle ignition and switch off when the vehicle sidelights are switched on. They can also be made to function as front position (side) lights, which operate at a reduced intensity when the vehicle sidelights are switched on."

Therefore, when switching (manually) to sidelights or (automatically or manually) to headlights - our DRL's do dim. It is law for us in the UK now that all cars being produced now must have front DRL's incorporated for safety reasons.

what DRL are you referring? i have the lighting package and yes the halo's are dim if the headlight kicks in. im not sure with the standard DRL (halogen)

Mine definitely do dim when the full headlights come on. I've also observed this in action when passing other F30s in tunnels.

thanks all for comments.. i was referring to the halogen drl for the non xenon cars. I needed to know so i can make sure my custom led drl will get enough voltage for maximum brightness..

no biggie, i cannot find the code for our F30 to stay in brightness while headlights are on.

just double checked. DRL indeed dimmed when headlight is on.
