Nice... has anyone heard of BMW taking back a leased car if you purchase another from them?

I've confirmed this with both my dealer and BMWCA customer service. MSRP hasn't changed, nor has pricing on other options. Blue tooth (reg $1200+) is now standard on the premium package too.

I called BMW Canada and he told me over the phone. I also called the the sales consultant to verify. Anyone know what the finance rate for 48 months?

WTF? So an $1100 option has been put in and a $1200 option taken out? Assuming you're okay with the substitution, that's $100 loss in value. Plus, perhaps more people would want the sound system over the BT feature methinks.

BMW also thought that more people ordering the PP would want the BT feature (executives always on the phone?). Personally, I agree with your view that the sound system is a must. Apparently, they are rolling the Logic7 into a package with the USB option. Will have to wait to see full pricing... |

The quote I received a couple of months back -- based on 07 pricing -- had Logic7 as part of the $4,200 premium package along with leather and a couple of other toys. I was told then that it would be an option for 08.
Either way, the fact there is no increase goes against what dealers back then were anticipating. |

As much as I hate the US, sometimes I wished I lived there.
Besides the fact that our dollars are almost even, they have some of the best deals. I woulda saved over $10K buying from the US. However, the BEST deal I've ever seen there is, 40 chicken mcnuggets & 2 family sized fries for ..(drumroll please).. $10.99 !!!

Copied from another thread I posted to earlier today:
I used to figure it was not worth the hassle when the Cdn was worth US$0.85. Now at parity, things change DRAMATICALLY. Here's what I'm considering: E92 335i Sport, 19", PDC, Premium, Cold Weather (incl as std in Canada), USB, Comf Acc., Bluetooth (extra in Canada, incl in PP in US) US Price including destination charge before taxes and duties: US$48.7k Cdn Price including destination charge before taxes: Cdn$63.6k Now, I assume I will get a 4% discount on the Canadian vehicle and 0% on the US (not sure if the latter will be the case, but I'm being conservative). Second, I'll apply duties and taxes to vehicles as relevant. What I will not factor in are some of the fees that would be required in the customizing for Canada process. All in (excluding import/customization fees, but including duties and taxes) US vehicle into Ontario: $59k Cdn vehicle: $70k The difference between the two of about $11k is huge. Assuming that other costs amount to $1-2k, the savings is still substantial. I'd say well worth the hassle given the state of the currencies today. Let me know if I've missed anything here. |
