Cf hood problem with latch?
I'm wondering if using the existing hood latch (the thing that holds the hood up) will break or need to be modified. I hear people either take it out or use aftermarket because it was made to support the heavy oem hood and may break the cf one.*My friend just took his out completely because it could shatter through the cf.
Thoughts, experience?

its the hood STRUTS...like the gas shocks...that are too strong.....you called them hood latches...latch is the thing at the front above the grill that you unhook after you pull the lever inside.

Yes the strut. Doesn't the hood flex when you have that on?
I hear the M3 strut is what you need.

It's not like removing one will relieve half the resistance. One side will still flex, no?
Thanks.

its not that one side will flex.
when its up one side will dip. on my trunk for instance it was just enough to keep it up. sometimes if the weather was cold it wouldnt keep it up. the hood though seemed to be just right. yea some say to get the M3 strut which was what i was planning on doing but didnt have any issues with the 1 strut method (and there was no such option for the trunk anyway) |

Sounds like a plan. Just wondering, did you end up removing the driver side or passenger strut? Can you post some pics for me? Thanks!
