E90 HID Fog Lights
Morning ladies and gents,
So I'm actually looking to get a set of HIDs for my fogs on my '08 and I'm kind of stuck. Now to my knowledge, unlike my old E39, I MUST have canbus ballasts in order to avoid getting codes for my bulbs right? More than anything I'm looking for a reputable vendor, whether it be on the forum or on Ebay, etc. I keep hearing different people complain about the output and life of ballasts that they receive with their kits especially the "Xentec" kits. I really want to avoid anything of overly cheap quality. Any feedback would be a help in my small quest. Just dont want to waste my $ is all. Thanks! |

I don't want to buy from any random place or random Ebay vendor. I used to have a local shop to get them from, but they closed a year or two ago. |

I recently fitted LED Bulbs to my fogs. I have an M Sport with the HB4 bulbs. Installed fine and worked fine but threw up a bulb blown error. I then bought the resistors from the the same seller I bought the bulbs from (which he gave me half price) and all it was was a cable with a HB4 male to HB4 female and inline resistor and all works perfect now.

Yea, the LEDs will look nice but i'm sure is not up grade to provide enough light output in the fog housing vs halogen/HID. Be sure to pickup the canceller too. Hope it will all work out well

Here's a pic of the LEDs during the day. Look and work very well but like Lorpatho said they wouldn't be as bright as HIDs but all the same I'm very happy with the outcome. Here's a pic of the inline resistors too. |

Myself and everyone that I know have $30 HID kits and just coded out the errors and have been running without issues ever since.
