blower fan... driver side wind noise

Put the car in today for a noisey blower fan (sounded like a Helicopter on take off) and the drivers door wind noise, Not getting it back till Wednesday as they are ordering something for the door ?, guy advised that the blower is being fixed. When I get the car back I'll let you know what they replaced incase anyone else is having the same problem.. Least they took me serious..

There is a campaign for noisy blowers - one of the F30s on our fleet (2012) had the blower changed.

My passenger side window vent doesn't work, open or closed no air comes out. The thing sounds like something is stuck inside the airways! Time for a second visit to the dealers

So they replaced the Blower unit £167.42 and the gutter stip and the parts needed to refit £152.96. Labour would have been £196.80.. All done the blower sounds better and there is less wind noise... Job done

What specifically did they replace for the wind noise mate........I had mine in for that and they said it was buffering from the wing mirror and normal. Still dubious. Cheers.

Can anyone expand on the noisy fan blower too? I occasionally have a noise that seems to be the fan. Imagine a leaf stuck in it and that's what it sounds like. Rises and falls with engine revs too but goes away if I turn the fan off.

My neighbour called me to say he now has the same thing on his ED, Sounds like a playing card on push bike wheel.. its not there all the time, mine was noticable if using the windscreen heat button, then the noise would stay until I fiddled around with it..

Hope that helps

Yes! I was only thinking that today!

Well I certainly can't be arsed to go to the dealers again so it can wait until service time unless it gets unbearable.

I had this happen to mine.. Was fine, then noisy, like a leaf was in it.. Like a card or something rattling against bike wheel spokes..

Turns out is was a leaf (or three), and that there was a modification to be fitted to the blower system by the dealer to prevent this (after they'd cleaned it out).

This was done a good 6 months back now and all has been OK since.

Sounds like leaves in the blower.. Some got into mine and the dealer cleaned them out and fitted a "modification" or "kit" something along those lines.. It's been fine since..

Hmm. Now I'm not sure if this is coincidence but mine hasn't done it since I stopped attempting to drive everywhere in EcoPro mode and just got on with enjoying the car. I know EcoPro does alter the behavior of the a/c and wonder if it could be connected.

Mine was definitely leaves in the system... pretty loud, like a playing card on bicycle spokes at higher fan speeds. You couldn't ignore it.

Thing was that it seemed very much, to me, that it was a known issue by the time I sent mine in for diagnosis at the Dealer as they mentioned there was a modification to be fitted to stop it happening again. They cleaned out the system and all was fine but we had to wait for the modification parts/kit to come in, but they did, and it was all done under warranty.

Was happy with the way this was dealt with. Good service.
