Finally! M5 Rear Suspension Noise Addressed

I hv been driving my car for some 20,000km over the last 9 months, and the rear suspension clunking noise is getting louder and irritating. Brought the car to my local dealer and lucky me, they had a ratification "kit" available. Unfortunately down time would be a whole day, and I understand that they would be changing the rear suspension coils and the front suspension dampers too.

Cant wait to collect the car and test if I am rid of the clunking noise for good. *fingers crossed*

Yep early 2012 M5 problem. I believe the problem was the original springs were too short and therefore the play at the top would hit and cause the audible sound that these complaints were made of. BMW took action, hence the "fix kit".

Anyone know when this was addressed in production? Mine was built in February 13, I cant figure out if its going to be an issue or not.

Mine is going in monday--apparently, there is not a BMWNA bulletin and after speaking to my SA, the shop foreman did confirm something about a fix kit and new parts beingavailable. Will let you know.

apart from getting rid of the noise, the suspension feels firmer & more composed. is that just me being delusional ?
