Moonroof wind noise

Hi guys,

Here's what may be a dumb question. I had some coding done on my car: the basic stuff, including enabling the remote to close the moonroof. On the drive home, I noticed for the first time a lot of wind noise coming from the moonroof seal. I'm pretty sure this must have been there the whole time, and I just happened to notice it then, but I wanted to check with you experts. Is there any chance the coding could have affected the "stop position" of my moonroof such that it doesn't close as tightly as before?

I don't think that coding could mess with it.
It is known issue with the noisy moonroof, you should go to someone who will check your seals and fix. I'm pretty sure that it is hardware problem.

I found that after coding my roof to close with the key FOB that it sometimes get out of synchronization after a certain number of open and close cycles with the remote. Try the reset procedure by turning ignition on (car not running) and pushing the sun roof button up and hold for over 40 seconds and keep holding while it cycles thru a complete open and close procedure. That fixed my wind noise.

Thanks for the great tip. I just did the reset so we'll see if it works next time I drive on the highway.

I did the reset and I think it might be a little better, though it's definitely still there. I'm going to try it a couple more times and see if I can get a better seal.

I wonder whether there's a rubber seal in there that could benefit from some gummi pflege.

If that doesn't work, I guess the moonroof needs to be "realigned" or something?

Usually the seals are the main problem. I'm sure that you will find someone who will help you resolve this known issue.
