Painting Brakes

Has anyone done this with red paint? I think it would look great on my car because of the all black look with a spinning red. Some people think this is ricer but if done correctly it adds a nice effect to the wheels. some cars even come stock with painted brakes. and since i wont be getting a BBK anytime soon it will do for the time being

I did blue, and some folks seem to like it. Though there are those that can sometimes take themselves too seriously and simply feel they need to dictate to you what you should and shouldn't enjoy...

The Paint is a 2 part epoxy that I've used in the past and Tirerack and several parts stores sell it. http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/g2/caliper_paint.jsp

Now that it's cooling off, it may not be to important, but make sure you prep fully before mixing it, as it dries quickly. Do the prep right, and this stuff will never give you problems, even with getting (reasonable) wheel cleaners etc on it...

And powders and epoxy's are what the high end stuff are coated with (when not anno)... The fact that you took the time to do it right, and are driving a car that is fairly un rice anyhoo should take away most of the "rice" potential.

You are just painting the original calipers with the epoxy paint.
