They are not covered elsewhere rather than USA. Some places you have the option to pay extra to get them covered when buying the car.

dealer states i drove 'excessively' and not covered under normal wear and tear.

they won't let me just replace the pads because the rotors have 'excessive glaze'. to be covered back under their maintenance plan i need to replace both pads and rotors. not many options otherwise.

I would find another dealer. Unless you were tracking uour car daily or droving with tour foot resting on the brake, where in North America could you toast brakes that fast? (and not be in jail)

If you have a good relationship with your dealer they "may" replace your pads/rotors once under warranty if you've tracked your car (which is the case)

I think the dealers stance on this is ridiculous. Tell your sales person, and if he cant address it then find another dealer.

BTW how many miles do you have? I've never got more than 10k miles out of a set of pads on any car, and I don't track the car.

Damn 10k? I changed my Yukon around 45k and I tow a boat. Changed again around 90k then at 150k.

i sucked it up and had them replace the brakes. they gave a 10% discount on 'good customer' status and they supposedly checked to replace under warranty but they did not do so. i'm not so sure i needed new rotors, but they were convinced that the glaze would not come off and would thus not do the job with just pads alone. pretty sure i was robbed on this one, but i defer to the experts.

i was doing repeated threshold braking from 150mph-->~80mph at watkins glen track. the car had 2k miles on it.

i did take the rotors and will see if i can get someone to sand the rotors to see if they are still useable.
