CF Roof Overlay

http://www.eurokoncepts.com/Carbon-F...E92-_p_59.html

anyone have experience with this? id like to know what the quality of this item is. I have hail damage to my roof and im considering this as an alternative instead of having the roof skin replaced. I could put this over it and use the money saved to invest elsewhere within the vehicle.

I do not want to vinyl wrap my roof with that 3D carbon fiber stuff... so dont even go there lol

Yeah was going to say the wrap wouldn't look good. Looks good, but have no idea about the quality. Good luck.

Yeah, the only problem is that you would want to see it in person prior to purchase and install. Looks good from the pic.

This is nothing close to the install process of vinyl Taran. You would actually want a well qualified body shop to install this properly. And now that you mention it if everyone wants to chip in I will pay for the install on my car.

Btw bruv GOT MY HOOD PAINTED AND PAINT CORRECTION ON THE WHOLE CAR!!!

Back to topic...

Whoops didn't even notice it was a wrap but a overlay LOL But no it should be simple. Only problem I see is how long it'll last and since its glued on we can't take it off without paint damage? So in the long run not so good but if someone dumps the car then power to them.

i could care less if the paint is ruined since the reason id be buying it would be to cover my ruined hood in the first place. its sounding like a good idea the more i think about it. im just worried about the quality of the part. and i wish it was 1x1 weave like the oem room

this will not sit flush with the bars on the side of the roof or the top of the doors. would be pretty obvious and may look bad.

Why bother? It's not like your roof will actually be made of carbon fiber. You're just adding weight with a glorified sticker.

To me even their demo pictures look like the install wasn't perfect. It makes me wonder. I'm sure this is the installers fault, but makes me think about the company selling it. If they put sloppy demo pictures up then how would my car look.

id wish you'd read the thread. my roof has pretty bad hail damage in which could only be fixed by replacement of the roof skin. i could save on labor and having to have my car cut up to install a new roof skin. its not a sticker like vinyl its actual carbon fiber that bonds to the roof skin.

agreed. that first pic looks like shit. it's not even tucked in at the back of the roof in that first pic. As someone who does wraps and other vinyl work for a partial living, there is no way I would show a pic like that to demo a product.

Quote wasn't mean for you - assuming this overlay is rigid enough, it would make sense in your case.

I would find out how thick it is. I agree with the above post, I think it would be raised above the normal roof line and might look odd, instead of seamless. Of course you could have someone actually carbon fiber on top of your roof, but it would be more than $700. Ask them for a small sample or at least ask them if they have any reviews on the product from other buyers.
