2013 335 m-sport brakes squeeking
Anyone having issues with their brakes?? I've had the car for 2 weeks and since day one the dam brakes have been squeeking everytime i come to a stop and its pretty dam loud because i can hear it over the radio. i've seen 3 or 4 m-sport 335's and it seems like they all squeek when coming to a stop. Anyone have this problem and if so have they gotten it fixed or does it eventually go away?

THis seems to be common with M Sports. My 328 brakes were horribly loud for the first 1500 miles, and I took it into service. They chamfered the brakes (whatever that is) and it went away for a couple hundred miles, returned with a vengeance for about 100 miles, and now are pretty much silent. I can still get a slight squeal from time to time, but it is pretty rare and not very loud.
My trusted mechanic says this isn't uncommon on performance cars and usually goes away. My business partner's new Audi TT RS also squeals like a banshee. My advice is to be patient and it will disappear after a few thousand miles. |

Mine squeeled like hell at first but after a serious bedding-in session, the volume went down but it was still there. Upgraded to MPerf brakes and no noise at all now!

1,500 miles on mine (2013 335i M Sport, 6-spd.) and it's been squealing since day one.
I do have to say it didn't really bother me that much initially, but it is fairly embarrassing when rolling to a stop, as it only seems to happen at speeds under 10mph. An "unexpected" dealer visit is a huge annoyance as well. None of my new e46's or e90's experienced this issue. Oh well; the car's phenomenal otherwise... |

Somewhat common on a performance pad. I didn't want to take mine in and not have a car all day so I did some high speed runs and eased into the brakes a few times. It helped and now car has around 2000 miles and it seems to happen at a very slow stop and is not as loud.

I've put around 750 miles on my car, and it's still ridiculously loud. I actually took it in, and they applied some anti-squeek coating, but this lasted for about a day. I live in Seattle, so there's a lot of braking, and it's *incredibly* loud! I'm going to try and get a bed-in run going, but I'm not sure when I'll be able to. Has anyone resolved this besides upgrading their brakes?

I have about 600miles on mine. It still very loud.
The dealership said it's normal. It needs more break-in and then it will be gone. |

How very odd that lately there have been quite a number of Msport owners reporting squealing brakes.
Mine was built in July during the building of the first US Msports. My brakes never squealed and still don't. I did do a "bedding" within the first 50 or so miles from new. Those of you that have squealing, did you perform a "bedding" process? If not I suggest you try it as soon as you can. Do a search for brake bedding on the web and you'll find a number of sites that have a procedure listed. Tire Rack also has suggestions on bedding. Interestingly, my brakes have become better over time in terms of feel. They used to feel like I had to apply more pedal travel to get stronger braking. Now they feel stronger with same/similar pedal travel. Maybe I've become more used to them and/or they get better over time. But, not squealing ever with my Msport. |

From what I understand, the de-glazing (aka, bedding) is a possibility; however, I live in the city so finding the time and location to do so is a bit of a pain. From what I understand, people with more experience in this can simulate the process of accelerating and braking by applying gas while simultaneously braking, but this sounds prone to issue for the uninitiated (like myself)--either doing too much or too little.
I'm actually at the dealership now for a related issue (rear window), and brought up the squeaking, also mentioning that the bedding might help. However, it remains to be seen if they'll be able to do anything about it. |

Mine did the same thing and I upgrade to M Performance Brakes. I have several other issues, mostly electrically, and BMW ordered me a new 335i xDrive M-Sport. That has arrived and has some of the same issues. Waiting on BMW on next steps.

Mine eventually went away. It was disconcerting at first-actually thought it was the car next to me.

The compound in higher temp brake pad materials are usually louder. I've been having this issue as well (only 500 mi) on the car. I was thinking maybe a trip to the track might fix it? LOL
