M Sport Plus Package

M Sport Plus Package launched

From the end of July BMW will be offering an M Sport Plus package across the new BMW 1 Series, 3 Series and 5 Series ranges.

Priced from £1,400-£2,000 over the standard M Sport model, the BMW 1 and 3 Series gain Xenon Headlights with Headlight wash, Sun protection glass, harman/kardon loudspeaker system and M Sport braking system. The BMW 3 series M Sport Plus package also benefits from the addition of 19-inch M Sport light-alloy wheels.

It seems thay are making the F30 better value for money especially as the new Mercedes C Class is going to be launched soon and which will have lots of goodies as standard.

But I guess you'd still have to pay more than that to get the full visibility package (ie with adaptive and headlamp assist). Looks like you only get the xenons and washers.

Yeah, it's the same for the LCI 5 series too as they will come with Xenon as standard (adaptive) but LED headlights are extra....

It's a step in the right direction as Audi A4 S-Line models have had standard Xenons for a few years now.

I'd guess it would just be an upgrade cost though.

I'll be honest, I'm not too happy about this! I've ordered 3 of the pack's items (HK, xenons and 19s) and reckon I'll have paid more then the pack cost.

Just priced these options up on the configurer:

Xenons £710
Headlight wash £215
Sun protection glass £235
Harman/kardon loudspeaker system £650
M Sport braking system £570
19" Wheels £580

Total: £2960

Seems very good value, if you want these particular options. I guess we could assume the price to be around £1700 for this package (half way between 1 series and 5 series) so over a grand saving.

You can't get the adaptive headlights without getting the visibility package at the moment.

I hope you don't have to pay the full £925 for the visibility package just to get adaptive headlights and high beam assist.

I also hope there is some kind of package with HUD now. £800 as an individual option is way overpriced.

Yep - not bad value - if it weren't for the fact that I don't like the 19s and the sun protection, I'd be somewhat disappointed. I'd end up paying for a delete on those items. Happy with the viz pack and HK.

Sounds great to me but then I'm not someone who has just bought a car, if I had I would be a bit annoyed.

Although for a M Sport Plus package I'd expect these to be the first on the list:

Adaptive
Variable Sport Steering
M Sport braking system

After all, its supposed to be an extension of the M Sport package.....

This sort of stuff is good for leasers. If its sold as a trim spec then you're not paying the full whack during the lease which is brilliant. They should put full viz pack rather than HK. And folding mirrors and heated seats instead of wheels.

With the exception of HK, that is what the M Sport package includes in New Zealand already.

A great money saving pack, I would have gone for it if available at the time of order, perhaps next time round...

....and another thing.....Xenons £710 and Headlight wash £215 = £925

The visibility pack is £925 so why not include the full pack?

(In fact no-one in their right mind would order just xenons and headlight wash when the pack is the same price!)

Edit, hang on, the £710 seems to include the headlight wash in the price....well for a 330d M Sport anyway on the configurer.

That means an adjustment to the cost:

Xenons (Includes headlight wash) £710
Sun protection glass £235
Harman/kardon loudspeaker system £650
M Sport braking system £570
19" Wheels £580

Total: £2745

Think it mentioned the 3er getting alloys over and above the other ranges, so would suspect it being higher than mid way? Still a great deal, well would have been for me as I have optioned all except sun protection glass. But agree, this is done as a lease company package to lure lease punters into the options basket.

Looks like BMW are heading of the Audi S Line and MB Sport Plus packages.

Maybe adaptive lighting cost is reduced to £200 if you do spec the Sport + package?
