Tint Percentage?

What tint percentage do you guys recommend? Please post pics of what you have.

I'm leaning towards 30-40% because I am pretty sure 30% is the max legal in Ohio.

Also, I found this guy online: http://thetintdude.com/

It looks like it will be $150, plus he comes to me (don't have to leave the car anywhere). I was skeptical of it until I read some testimonials. Definitely looks legit if you live in the central states.

I live in ohio as well, and I am probably going to do 35%. I actually think the limit in ohio is 50%! So even in the 30s you are darker than the limit. I do however think 20% is the best look, but you can only go so dark without drawing too much unwanted attention.

Oh wow, I thought it was 30%... I am going to have to check on that.

The legal limit is 50% light transfer, which translates into like 70% film tint or something crazy like that. The tint guy told me that the windows are already at 70% light transfer, so I only have 30% more to go. In other words, its not really worth doing.

MN is 50% legal maximum as well and I would not spend my money if I was only going to go 50%, its simply too light IMO. The fact that you have a darker interior will tend to make any level of tint appear darker and the inverse is true for light interiors.

I ran 35% on a few previous cars and never caught any heat from the fuzz, even with dark interiors. If/when I tint this car I will likely go 35% again, but I have beige interior, so it will not look quite as dark. My two cents...

I have 15 all around and I love it. 30 is useless IMO. I just try not to get pulled over in the first place.

20% all the way. Can't imagine living in a state that won't let you do dark tint!

Awesome pics guys. I think for now I am going to hold off on it, as much as it kills me to do that. I want to observe the law for now.

In most states the "legal limit" tint is barely a tint at all. Its still transparent and it doesnt give you that "tinted window" look

Monaco Blue with 20%. If I had to do it again I would probably go with 35. The 20 can be a little dark at night. Especially with the dimming mirrors.

I use to rock 15% all the way around but I now have 35% on the side windows and 15% on the rear window. Very happy with this setup because it's dark enough to have privacy but not so dark that the cops hassle me.

It honestly all depends on the tint paper used, on my previous car I had 20% tints and you could not see in the car at all.. Now I have 20% tints and you can see inside the car alot more (both with black leather interior). Originally I was upset that they were lighter than my previous car and asked the shop and they said they used a factory 20% tint which is the same percentage that comes standard on SUV's which explains why it is appears to be a lighter 20%

Go with 30 or 35. Don't go any lower.

40% Crystalline on Titanium Silver with beige interior:

From different angles you can see the different effects. Crystalline is a bit lighter and more brownish than black/blueish which most people prefer. I happen to like it, but it's probably not for everybody.

In an effort to comply with the law, how do you guys think 50% on the front sides and 35% on the rear sides and rear windshield would look? I figure it's better than putting nothing on the front sides.
