$45 for file the title to DMV???

Dealer told me there will be a $45 for the filing fee to file the paper work to DMV, is that normal? because she said that cost is at every dealership. $45 is small amount, but just want to avoid the unnessusery charges. thanks for all the information.

So, in California it's the Department of Motor Weehicles?

California is weird.

That's about right.

^ Couldn't help busting your chops. It's just what I do.

BTW, that fee seems reasonable (or at least normal).

Yes the $45 is actually the doc prep fee. There's another $8.75 for tire fee and $28 for the electronic DMV filing fee.

sounds reasonable,

you could probably save the 45 if you wanted to go stand in line at the DMV yourself though

I was charged $132 for dmv fees in NY. There is a reg fee and computer lookup fee. On top of that is $10 for inspection. Did I get screwed? I think NY has different fees than other states..
