USB connection
Hi,
I can't get my USB connection in glovebox to read anything, I'm beginning to think it doesn't work. I want to upload some music in to the cars hard drive but it doesn't recognise anything I connect, states no connection found. How could I prove this? (the USB in glove box works fine but you can't upload files using it) |

The glovebox USB is for uploading music the armrest USB is only for music playback but that doesn't really help the op.

That's right, the Glove Box one is for uploading to the internal HDD.
Mine is hit and miss too (not that I use it much). I used to use it to charge my mobile but that started working intermittently and people on here said I could have blown the socket due to the mobile pulling too much power. Have you plugged anything into it that draws a lot of power? Also, try a different stick? It might not be able to read the big ones?

Oh sorry guys, my bad.
But +1 they mustn't be used for charging a device as they are not rated for that and will fail. Also stick size / format can be an issue. OP - just play direct from the stick in the armrest without uploading, easier and quicker. If you do upload from the glovebox socket, I gather the speed is dire and it takes an age. |

I've had the same issue but found that if you put the USB stick in before you start the car then it will read it. Maybe its not 'plug and play'. Try that and see if it works for you.

Dough is right, it' s not a very good function. It does indeed take ages to upload and if you upload in stages due to not having a stick big enough it seems to treat the uploads almost like separate albums so when you go to play music it asks if you wants usb1 or usb2 and neither of them will contain all the music you uploaded.
Stick with the Arm Rest! |
