91 octane vs 94 ultra?

Anybody using 94 octane, and if you are? what differences can you tell or are noticeable and what brand? Having issues as some say 94 octane contains 10% ethanol and i want to aim for something thats ethanol free. Shell 91 octane from what i recall used to be ethanol free, are they still? Would like to hear the input on diff brands between 91 and 94.

I use 100 octane whenever I can find some, not a whole tank just a mixture.

I feel a huge difference in HP, performance, everything. But I think you will only benefit from using a higher octane if you have a tune.. If you don't have a tune, I am pretty sure it is a waste to get higher octane. Correct me if I am wrong someone

In Canada I use Shell VPower Gas whenever possible, The lower Octane grade use upto 10% Ethenol. Ethenol and BMW's not a good mix. I went from 480KM/55L to 550KM/55L that completly evens out the extra cost and its better for the car and it's performance.

I mainly use Shell V-Power 91 but once in a while I would go Petro 94.

I track every fuel up and on average V-Power nets about 8% better mileage (or about 44km) than Petro 94 around 54L fuel-ups.

This, of course, does not account for the ECU adjusting when going from 91 to 94 and vice-versa.

edit: the above figures are on 328i. WTH am I doing on a 335i forum. =D

Out in Southern California, there are certain gas stations that carry 100 octane Racing Gas, but at a higher fee. $9.00 + U.S Dollars / Gallon roughly

From my house, about 30 miles or so any direction I can find some of these . I usually use a mixture and add in 6 gallons or so and feel a immediate difference in power (In a good way of course)

I am guessing in Canada they do not have racing fuel offered at any of your stations ?

Forgive my ignorance... by why is Petro Canada's 94 Octane (assuming it has 10% ethanol) bad for the car?

So 91 octane shell still ethanol free? because thats what i usually use but i hear now they have to include 10% ethanol because of regulations. So if thats the case might as well opt for 94 octane since it has 10% ethanol but im assuming performance will be slightly better since it is after all 3 higher.

No they do not and i highly doubt they will anytime soon, unless of course you go to the track im sure youll be able to get it there but i can just imagine the price per litre
