Help! Re: SIB 61 03 05

Hi All,

I am trying to get my dealer to upgrade my I-Drive for free due to SIB 61 03 05. After reading the bulletin, I cannot duplicate the problem. What exactly is the problem? Did the Arrow Display disappear when a phone call comes in (en-route)? Or the Arrow Display cannot be called up? (I know that Arrow Display is not available unless a destination is chosen.)

I just called the service department and tried to wing it by complaining there is something wrong with my Arrow Display when there is a phone call..... I got nowhere with them regarding upgrading the software because they REALLY want to know the problem but I cannot explain it!

Can anyone help? What exactly is the problem and how to duplicate it? This way I would have a much better chance of getting an upgrade for FREE.

Thank you all.

Tell then that you CD player keeps playing once you turn off your car.
You leave your car on track 3 and when you get back in, it's at track 5 or something
Tell them it doesn't happen all the time and it's with burned CD's

I haven't tried lately but as I remember, put both I-drive windows on the nav map and have a destination entered. Start the guidance. With both windows on Nav you will not get the turn-by-turn direction arrows to appear in the small window as it should.

Try this again with something else in the small window (such as car data). The direction arrows will appear as required to steer you to your destination.

This is kind of a pain to duplicate at the dealer since you have to be driving.

The dealer is perfectly aware of this problem and simply does not want to take the time to re-program your car since they only earn a flat fee and your car probably takes up a service bay for the better part of a day.

Tried it again today:

Put the small window on Trip computer and teh large window on Radio, for example. Be sure to have guidance on though.

The small window will switch to the direction arrow as needed. This does not happen when you have the small window on the Nav map.

This is easy to reproduce will driving with guidance on (assuming you have some near by turns to make )
