INPA Idle RPM Adjust

Hi Everyone,

I'm hoping to try and increase my idle RPM on my 2006 325i using INPA but am pretty lost on how to do it.

I tried searching everywhere but can't seem to find any directions.

I currently have INPA/EDIABAS V5.02 installed and NCSexpert 3.1.

There is no adjustment parameter for idle RPM in INPA? Am I using the wrong version?

Thanks!

Idle rpm is not adjustable on these engines.

For E90

Open INPA\engine\Msd80\F9\F4\F6 then enter the nominal value of idle speed. Click ok and your done

This doesn't stick.

I think it's more for on the spot diagnostics. It returns to stock values when you restart car...been trying to see if I could get this to stick a few months back (no luck so far)

I think you'd have to flash the DME with your own map to make this work.

Msd80 is for 335i, and I can confirm that it works properly

If you have the same options for your DME module, it should save as well

There is also an option in there for on the spot idle adjust that only works while INPA is running it, so you can play with the idle and determine the correct amounts to adjust in the other screen. If you were using that you have to 'end' it before you go to the other screen, or it will not save

This is only temporary for diagnostics, idle speed is not adjustable.

Bump has anyone had luck with this? The idle speed resets once the ecu sleeps.

Only way to increasy RPM is using DISv57 and it only lets you to make 50rpm up or drop

My dealer set mine up 100rpm but not sure what they used to do it. So definitely can set n55 's.

Heartbreaking. Trying to get rid of single mass flywheel noise. The UUC oil combo worked wonders but a slight bump in rpm would make it perfect!

Use dis, go to service functions, engine, idle speed ( or something like this im writing from my poor memory) it will let you change rpm by +10 rpm at a time to max about 50-100rpm above or under default value

DIS is the tool to do this. INPA .... I doubt it.

Interesting. I'll try this out when I get a chance. Has anyone actually got this to work yet?

It doesn't seem to be that simple. When I click "test schedule" and proceed with idle speed it reads 0. I turn on the engine and it reads the current value but I think it asks to turn the AC on. I turn it on but it reads 0 at the AC line. So there is just test going on and nothing to adjust??

I replaced spark plugs, ignition coils, idler pulley, tensioner pulley, serpentine belt , water pump, thermostat, coolant and engine oil and now the engine seems to have less workload and the idle speed is about 600 rpm, which is close to resonance speed (I guess) and causing vibrations.

Vibration has many different reasons but the most common one is a vacuum leak. Have that checked before doing anything.

I found the procedure of adjusting the idle rpms on another forum. I needed to clear all fault codes, adaptations and turn off all electrical consumers first. Than DIS will instruct me what to do.

I think the reason for vibrations is the engine mounts. The car has 130K miles and they never been replaced. Vacuum leak would cause variation in the idle speed, which is not noticeable.

Thanks for your help all!

What is the max you can raise your idle?

I didn't perform the procedure because it appeared my problems are not from the idle engine speed. Someone mentioned two 50 rpm increments, but I can't confirm.

Did anyone successfully (permanently) increase idle speed. Interested because of lightweight Flywheel. Thanks!
