I thought this was funny....regarding track stuff:

10 commandments of racecar physics

1) Thou shall not go off in the last of the esses.
2) Thou shall not respin
3) Thou shall think about where you are on entry
4) In the wet, Thou shall stay the hell offa da paint
5) If 2 wheels off, Thou shall not muscle it back on
6) If you spin, Thou shall put 2 feet in
7) Thou shall not go off at the second turn
8) Thou shall dry off your wet booties.
9) Thou shall not brake at the crest of a hill
10) Thou shall not apex early.

There is more detail about these..but I cannot type that much...suffice it to say..it pretty frickin funny..but with these commandments..you get the idea.
If you race a car...this is totally funny.

Excellent! Thanks!

IMHO, track days in the rain are awful. While you learn a lot about vehicle dynamics, it is really miserable. I did a school at Buttonwillow in the rain in my 89 MR2 track car. Every right hand corner, I got soaked!

I do the Audi club event at Thunderhill for the past nine years...always in January..and at least every weekend..one day it is raining. The one thing about Audis in the rain...quattro rules. The bad track to be at in the rain..Infineon...I have seen three accidents there...one guy was temporarily paralyzed....one guy rolled his Audi TT Coupe...my student rotated the car at the turn in to turn #1 and my side hit the k-wall...NICE. Respect Infineon in the rain...definitely a "got to".

I need to get to Infineon...Maybe some day...

All I can say is that I have a huge amount of respect for you club instructors! It is a really hard job and takes a tremendous amount of courage. Especially in the rain!

What I did learn from my rainy day was that you only lose less grip on accel/braking than lateral grip. As a result you change your line to lengthen the braking zones, make sharper corners at lower speeds and really stay on line.
