Post Feeler/Idea On Boost Guage Setup

i found this nissan 350z on ebay. was looking through the pictures and i found this guy has a diagnosis display on his navigation screen. can this be possible on the 335i's i drive? can't we hook up a module/chip that has sensors connected to it for boost, a/f, etc and have it displayed on the screen? what do you guys think of the pillar setup on a 335i? too ricey?

to me the guages must be in line of sight. i know some people got the guages in the lighter compartment and all. props for creativity and looks but how are you going to look down and drive at the same time?

ideas and thoughts?

I would like the performance gauges to be on the iDrive screen. This way you can display them when you want.

minature PC with solid state memory + video switching hardware....

yes possible and good idea...

expensive yup.

could be used across models and manufactures...

havent really seen any on the market yet... you could be the first if you have everything required.

I don't think it'll be that expensive. To get the video feed to the i-drive, all you need is the tv-nav-2go, whatever you call it. And then a feed to upload onto the screen. It's doable.

sure, why not. Pioneer has something similar as well, just not as in-depth as HKS unit.

let me recap here on the stuff you need.

1. tv-nav-2go module only.
2. camp CPU: http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=651
Q: where would you put this cpu glovebox? i mean if it is a cpu with a monitor why not mount it on the dash?
3. sensors: http://www.hksusa.com/categories/?id=1995

There is WAY too much going on in that car. Ugh.

But I do love your idea...make it happen and show us how you did it.

It is the way to do it !!!

Great find. I will do it like that. Anybody knows if the HKS CAMP is available already ? I did not find a price. Better stock integration is simply not possible.

Thank you.
