Rig shots
Bought some kit to do some rig photography, looking forward to it getting dark tonight so can do some longer exposures...

Lots to learn... seems they recommend to roll the car, not drive it and it won't need to be going fast to get the blur I am after.

The car looks like it is moving in the second photo with the slight blurring - great technique.

These suction clamps you got are fantastic I have a small one the bonnet will come off before them. Would not like to be walking the pavement with you coming along with that rig

Cheers guys, it's not easy to achieve this type of photo without using something like this.
Just tried some night shots with the M3... not that great but I'm getting nearer to what I'm trying to achieve. Iffy colour balance and I've photoshopped some of the mount out but not all.   Mat

You are getting there what sort of exposure was that, and would a filter help? could the lens have misted slightly? just a though good first attempt though

I've not got an ND filter, so have ordered one, this hopefully will allow me to do some when it's lighter. I don't the lens is misted, the blur is more likely from the engine vibration (yes believe me it was making the camera vibrate). You are supposed to push rather than drive when doing these shots, the problem is my M3 won't go into N with the engine off being the DCT gearbox. Must be a way! 330d may do something similar, not tried it yet. F30AM - just for the fun of it really, I enjoy car photography so will be playing about more.

stevie the pro did this when he was doing a feature for a magazine on my track car,we pushed it in a half circle on long exposure,amazing effects,does makes it look as if your going rapidly.the weight of the rig might be too much for the bonnet, better watch it doesnt distort it

Yes I thought great pic, look forward to seing results with filter, most on Detailing world are great and they will usually tell you how they took them and what settings , some don't like telling the location for shoots
